Strength & Core Classes

We have a variety of Strength & Core classes in Seaford, Lewes and Peacehaven.

Shape your body and build lean muscle with strength and core training. With equipment such as free weights, kettlebells, barbells or simply using your body weight as resistance, you can improve your overall health while increasing muscle and bone strength.

Please note, some of our strength & core classes are for those aged 14+ and some are for those aged 16+. For all classes, we suggest wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you can move freely in and bringing along a water bottle. If it's your first time to the class don't worry, our classes are for all abilities so please work at whatever level is right for you. Let the instructor know it's your first time and they will help you get started.

Les Mills BodyPump™ 

BODYPUMP is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more. 

This full-body barbell workout will burn calories, shape and tone your entire body, increase core strength and improve bone health.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and above.

Body conditioning 

A varied class combining cardio, resistance and core training. Using a selection of equipment or just your own bodyweight this class will focus on increasing your strength & cardiovascular fitness to give you the ultimate full body workout.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and above.

Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates  applies the main principles of Classical Pilates but it also involves more functional movement for every day life.  Fitness Pilates will improve overall body strength with the main emphasis on your back and core muscles. It will also help to improve posture, mobility, joint problems and tone your body. Along with  minimal impact movements this class is great for all abilities.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Kettlebells

A total body workout that combines power and strength to build stamina and total body strength using kettlebells. You will lunge, squat, press and swing your way though this class and find out why the kettlebell is an amazing tool to help you reach your fitness goals. It's fab, just get booked in.

Power Circuits 

Amplify your workout with this full on circuits class that challenges your strength, power, speed & endurance. With varied exercises to test you, this class will really help you find your max!

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Power Conditioning 

This class is focused on conditioning the body with explosive power. Using varied equipment such as barbells, plates and kettlebells this class will challenge you on both a cardio and resistance perspective. Did someone say DOMS!

Total Conditioning 

A head to toe workout using varied equipment to increase muscle tone and fitness levels. A hi/lo mixed impact class for all abilities to great music and you'll leave  feeling  fantastic.

This class is suitable to those aged 16 years and above.

BodyTone

Looking to become more toned? This class will focus on your tum, bum, legs and arms and is a great all over, low impact workout. Perfect for all abilities.

BodyTone is available to participate at Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Boxercise™

Get your boxing gloves on! With boxing inspired training  you'll be covering areas such as pad work, circuits & shadow training with a heap of cardio to really blitz those calories and have a whole lot of fun.

This class is suitable for those aged 14 years and above.

Functional Fit - Gym Floor 

Delivered within our Gyms, Functional Fit uses functional movement patterns that mimic everyday life this class will have you swinging, slamming, pushing & pulling your way to a stronger body whilst increasing your cardio fitness and strength - the bonus is you get to play with some fun equipment too!

This class is suitable to those aged 16 years and above.

HIIT Fusion

A hybrid class that combines HIIT fused with focusing on the Core. This fast paced class will torch calories  whilst getting you fitter and stronger, topped off  with a 15min focus on strengthening  your entire mid section.

HIIT Fusion is available at Lewes Leisure Centre and Peacehaven Leisure Centre.
This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Core Fusion

This class hones in on the torso and sling muscles using resistance tubes & weight plates. Ideal for tightening your tummy & butt as well as improving functional strength in your core for everyday life.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Lift Lean 

Get the maximum benefits from your training with Lift Lean. Resistance training combined with elements of cardio to get stronger and fitter. This low impact workout will give you an all over body workout and is suitable for all abilities.

This class is suitable for those aged 16 years and over.

Active Age - Gym

Aimed at the older adult and delivered within our gym's this class incorporates  resistance & cardio machines along with  functional exercises  to improve strength and become fitter for everyday life. And as you're exercising as a group, some fun and laughter along the way.

Active Age - Gym is available to participate at Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford, Lewes Leisure Centre, Seahaven Swim and Fitness Centre in Newhaven and Peacehaven Leisure Centre.

This class is suitable for older adults. 

Active Age - Cardio & Condition

Aimed at the older adult this class incorporates a variety of exercises designed to increase your flexibility, fitness and muscular strength to some great music . So no matter what your goals - come along, join in and have fun.  All sessions will be tailored to varying abilities.

This class is suitable for older adults.

Pose Barre 

A ballet based fitness class that can be adapted for all fitness levels and capabilities. Barre is a combination of ballet, yoga and Pilates moves that help to sculpt, tone and strengthen your muscles while teaching you correct posture and balance

Move & Mobilise

An instructed group session comprising of strength and balance exercises to aid with the prevention of falls. This class not only benefits everyday life but there's also fun and laughter along the way.

This class is suitable for those seeking to develop strength and balance to prevent falls.

Seated Fitness 

ideal for those individuals unable to stand for 45 mins, seated fitness gives you the support of a chair during the class. Focusing on exercises that improve strength, mobility and confidence all done to great music, it’s the perfect combination of fun and movement

Pose Barre Flow 

Pose Barre Flow is a floor and mat based class where movement combines with deep stretching. Based on traditional ballet workout moves recommended by leading dance companies worldwide, combined with influences from pilates and contemporary dance. It is suitable for all levels.

RIDE - Fusion

We've fused cycle & strength to create the ultimate Cycle Fusion class. You'll get both cardio & resistance training in this unique 45 minute session. Don’t train longer, train smarter!
