On the 5th December we temporarily closed the swimming pool at Lewes Leisure Centre to enable essential works to be completed, including the replacement of the pool filtering system.
Replacing the pool filtering system for a swimming pool is a big job, but it is essential to ensure that the water in the pool is kept clear and suitable for swimming.
Over the last few weeks the filter has been emptied, cleared of all existing pipe and concrete, shot blasted to remove scale deposits, new pipes and gel pack fitted to renew the filtering system, 12 tonnes of concrete replaced and 12 tonnes of new filter media added.
Although not having access to the swimming pool has been an obvious disappointment, we are pleased to say we are now getting ready to re-open and ready to welcome your return to the pool, with the added benefit of water filtered through the new pool filtering system.
