Rookie Lifeguard
The Rookie Lifeguard Programme is a fun and exciting lifesaving awards scheme for children who have passed Stage 7 of the Learn to Swim pathway. Teaching self-rescue, survival, rescue, and sport skills. There are 9 core awards to the programme in 3 categories: Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Held at Lewes Leisure Centre, the Rookie Lifeguard programme features fun and varied activities designed to equip children with the skills and confidence they need to safely enjoy being in the water - whether that's in the pool or the sea, shallow water or deep water.
The Rookie Lifeguard programme revolves around learning and using key skills including:
- Survival
- Rescue
- Sports
- Teamwork
- Peer support
